I’m not sure how this relates to being happiness. I doubt the swordfish was very happy about dying a painful death just for someone else’s pleasure. I’m sure you must see something different in this photo, but when I look at it all I see is torture, cruelty and unnecessary suffering.
You are quite right Wendy, there is a lot of suffering here. I enjoy documenting life, sometimes what I photograph involves suffering. I wasn’t making any judgment with the photo either way. Really I thought the fish was amazingly beautiful, a wonder of nature, that’s why I took the picture. Perhaps seeing the photo will make people think about eating fish – it wasn’t my intention though. But it may.
